Construction Futures was proud to play a part in this year’s Social Enterprise Northern Ireland Awards, held on Friday 7 November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast. The annual event brings together leaders, innovators and community champions from across the third sector to celebrate the organisations and individuals driving meaningful impact in communities throughout Northern Ireland.
Representing Construction Futures on the night were Fionnuala McKenna, Head of Strategic Development, and Jenni Marshall, Education Engagement Co-Ordinator. As long-standing supporters of social value and youth development, the team were delighted to sponsor the Young Person of the Year Award, a category that shines a spotlight on the emerging leaders shaping a more inclusive and socially conscious future.
Highlighting Emerging Leaders: Young Person of the Year
Fionnuala had the honour of presenting this year’s award to winner Andrew Hamilton of Just Include, whose dedication to inclusion and community support is already making a remarkable difference. The Highly Commended recognition went to Brandan Magee of SERC, celebrating his inspiring commitment to wellbeing and community resilience.

Championing Social Value in Construction
The night also highlighted the achievements of two Construction Employers Federation (CEF) member companies, GRAHAM and Heron Bros, who were nominated for the Social Value Partner of the Year Award. This category recognises businesses that embed social value, community benefit and responsible practice at the heart of their operations. A huge congratulations to Heron Bros, who secured a well-deserved win for their continued leadership in delivering meaningful social impact across Northern Ireland.
