What does a Joiner / Carpenter do?
A Joiner or Carpenter is a skilled professional who designs, creates & installs structures, furniture and fittings using wood.
Working in a workshop (bench joiner), creating elements for projects or working on site (site carpenter), installing these to fit correctly in their locations.
This can include staircases, windows, doors, furniture and more!
Experienced joiners can become supervisors, project managers or business owners.
You could also specialise in an area like heritage restoration or building sets in the film industry.

Age 18-20 £8.60 p/h
Age 21+ £11.44 p/h
Qualified: Up to £30k
Joiner (5+ years): £37k to £42k
Team supervisor: £50k +
